Ethio Solar For The Rural
Est 2017
Our Story
Welcome to our website! Powering Ethiopia's Rural Renaissance with Solar Energy Established in 2017, the Ethio Solar for the Rural (ESFR) initiative is born to power Ethiopia’s rural community with household electrification, solar pumps distribution, establishing solar water well reservoirs, street lighting, solarizing schools, health centers and market places. Over 80% of Ethiopia's rural population remains off--grid, constrained by energy poverty that limits economic opportunities, education, agricultural productivity, health and quality of life. But a renewable energy revolution is underway, rapidly deploying solar and wind power systems that are transforming remote communities across the country. Our holistic approach ensures long-term sustainability. We work closely with local leaders to identify unique community needs and tailor solutions accordingly. By training a network of solar technicians, we create jobs and empower rural Ethiopians to manage and maintain the systems themselves. The impacts are already tangible - children studying after dark, businesses thriving into the evening, and families accessing essential services. Moreover, farmers irrigate using FREE or low cost energy where the shift away from polluting fuels is reducing environmental harm. By unlocking the power of the sun, we are catalyzing a rural renaissance in Ethiopia - one built on self-reliance, economic opportunity, and a brighter future for all. Join us in illuminating the path forward.
- By transforming remote communities with strategic solar projects.
